Myry and Pala Zolo at the miniBar
Want a push to get through the rest of the week? Go out to a show for a little midweek joy. New KC band Myry started of the night with some dreamy indie pop. Their music is filled with rich layers, sweet beachy guitar vibes with a hit of melancholy. As they played colorful shapes projected over them adding to the moody vibes of the music. The miniBar was packed on a Wednesday night and with good reason, the set was amazing!
Pala Zolo (Lawrence, KC) followed with a upbeat set of experimental synth music. Pala Zolo is the solo project of Eric Davis from Hembree with the addition of drummer Garrett. On May 10, five days before the show, Pala Zolo released their newest single, "Up North." The rest of the EP is set to release in September. Their instrumental music is a mix of drums, guitar, synth, and drum machine. Pala Zolo is one of Kimmy's can't stop listening to bands right now; check them out if you haven't already. There's something about listening to their music that makes me feel like I'm living my best life with an epic soundtrack in the background. Seeing them live only adds to the feeling.
